Pursuit Of Happiness

I
f there is suffering,
then there is pain,
and there is wondering why men go insane?
In the world burning and turning, put out like a flame,
of a candle handled with a wick or wax to blame

But, if there is joy, then there is happiness, with a pride,
and there is laughter ever after, without a regret of a lie.
The truth you remember, from your youth, is to surrender
to the legal tender. And chase away your debt
with your possessions rendered.

As you believe in saving your dreams.
Free of wages and things,
in reality more important than things
are the well being it brings
to have awareness in your health
as your wealth really sings
taking care to share
a love to dare in your wings.

                                           Natural Observatory

Breaking my neck, looking as high as my eyes could see
I watched the sky and it had no blemish or mark
just immense cloudless expanse never before
observed and never again seen with spotless
wonder
The quiet solitary blanket with unafraid beauty
amazed at all of it, like an ocean looking still
no wind or wave
just a sheet of glass ice skating to the endless
horizon
My sense of intrigue went for a sail
off into the sea above with shaking breath
as I break down with tears
streaming from my ache
along my cheeks
staring at the face of God
shining down on me
Making the corners of the universe smile upward
And as high as the Most High
as lovely as the greatest gift
forever imagined looking at the show

         The Trump Stump

I’m a tyrant and I have high rent eating my meals for free, I have conflict of interests; I seal the deal, that’s me! I live in a world of high stakes; some say, in a world all my own, as I give it a twirl, the kind it takes, to set the bet for my home, that’s the house you louse, if you didn’t know my tower has power and pride!
The fire is doused with written notes of how I did the crimes to lie. My penthouse suite is full of tweets
Every twitter is bitter; I got the nuts to bust your butts, the bigger the better tits are the winners! It defines who I am, and why I fire the user. Because I can, you understand? And I get tired of all the losers! We stand divided, G.O.P. decided, to let me be the king. No, not a royal, just know that I’m a foiled dictator, that’s under rated to bring, war to score points, as they anoint me the tyrant, of all the polls, and then after I’m done with all my fun there are the taxes and the wall I’ve sold, the poor out about all I could, nobody but me can fix the system, after I’m through they won’t know what to do because in short, I have witnessed wisdom, in my mind, like ego and pride, my two awarded traits, to people like me claiming to be undistorted with hate!

Blues to the News

It is sick to convict inflicting the soul

Falling quick into the sands and stick to control

The consequences with our defenses slowly unfolding

From words unfurled in the world of only withholding

To the course of action with satisfaction and trust

Of course is a reaction to the distraction we must

Fear when unclear to adhere to the rule

Judging our fudging as we feel the nudging

To revere the fool

Who is cool in the wake of today's addiction and affliction

Forsaking the ways of our mistakes and contradictions

Of up in arms when we are down with war

Up in tempo when the sound is more

Blues to the news

Discontinuing the selling of shelling

It is true to look within you to be compelling with telling

The way the soul displays consoling to stay alive

Dare to share what is there and to say what drives

Peace to ease and increasingly cease

To endure wars door

Assuring we are curing with reoccurring rapport

To open more

A way to portray, not  to betray, but be great in fulfilling

The day in a way we live today

And forgive not with hate and killing

The Brain

They say we have two sides of our brain
The right and the left
The right is easy to remember
It writes, and the left corrects
You might say, the left is a critic
As the right, writes and composes
Exposing the rose like poetry knows
And the left side never discloses
But rejects, with the decision
To parent with guiding or riding
And the right has no inhibition
While the left resides in fighting
The left leaves doubt with fear about
The right writes with delight
The left neglects to interject the
The right to trust in the light
The left protects against nakedness
Correcting what is hidden
Despite the rights to enlighten
The night as dark is forbidden
Discriminating art
Incriminating the heart
The left affects our sight
While the left sees nothing
The right bleeds something
Like the stars need the night
The left has breath teaching of death
As the right has life to lead
To stir the words in what is heard
And exercises to succeed
The left side of the brain laughs
In vain as the right explains the craft
The left side hides while the right confides
The last laugh in the draft
Left will edit not giving credit
To the rights right to recall
The plight of the right in the night
As the left is left to fall
The left is deaf to the sound
Of liking what we write
As we fight for the right to write
What we like the left rejects the light

Pain Explains

Take me to a place where the rivers run
And the ocean speaks of devotion
To deliver the sun
From east to west
Setting on the horizon
To please me without regrets
As I rely on the sea to move me
And free the currents and swells
Casting assurances and shells
Onto the beaches as well
As the shore
Before the waves
Take them back of course
As the sand pipers
Run with the patterns
Of the waves
Making sure the sun
Learns to behave
Just as stars appear into
The night
Wondering how far
Or near the sight
As the moon casts a tide to swoon your surprise
Kissing you as you rise
With moments of devotion as love is compassion
To love the ones who share the action
As the pain explains the hardships endured
Releasing comfort with a cure which is pure
Explaining the enjoyment of the moment
Receding in the bleeding and need for more
Ointment of relief as we need to turn over
a new leaf with a steady readiness changing
the tide relishing the refreshing breath we ride

Seeking The News

Why do I seek the news?
To find out about the war on terror?
To find out about the latest weather?
To hear about the shooting on campus?
To see what the stock market hands us?
Why do I seek the news?
To see the latest car chase?
To find out what's the latest craze?
To know how many are killed?
To show me plenty of thrills?
Why do I seek the news?
To find out about the score?
To say I'm well informed?
To catch the lottery numbers?
To make me feel numb or dumber?
Why do I seek the news?

Finding a Rhyme

It blows my mind
to find a rhyme
in time with a line
sometimes divine
My purpose is a circus
and is your
murkiest messenger
But it cures the stir
and is as sure as
your recession
where a dollar is a holler
and a doubt is a shout
to the story
without the glory
and is about to get out
Rhymes with chimes as these tall
tales climb to peak over the surface
and over the brink so my purpose is
as though I can grow and think
and the moral to the story is history blinks
When it comes to the war
we mysteriously link
Our every whim and desire to do better
Than what we see in the fire forever
A piece of burning needing yearning
For a peace
returning if indeed
we are learning
To increase
and show what we know
from the heart
Prose are for those
who are poetry smart
And my rhymes
are like lines
in my mind
of madness
wondering
if I can find
gladness
In all of the sad
gone bad
in our lives
while finding
a rhyme
is how our
happiness
survives

Falling Back on

Too many songs and not enough dancers
To sing along with love as the answer
As the melody sweeps
The people off their feet
Making the shuffle to the street
A mere muffled speech
To put fear away as the people play
The lonely song into the night
Moving slow into the light
Moving more to slight the plight
And become bold to the old
As the young becomes sold to the
Eternity of words making the sound
Certainly heard with a pure
Cure of insecurities
As we scurry within hopes
And the fury of worry
Always falling back into the dreams
We follow as we lack the tangible
things we have to fall back on

Love Never Ends

She let out a sigh
Explaining her pain
To him as she cried
As they relaxed in the wind
To deny the ways of the world
For being weak is becoming strong
While we speak in loving words
Like the shade in the sun
As the rays of gentle days
Always find time to caress
Our ways as we play
Holding each other
Reminding us of love
Never to end and depends
On enough of the love to get
Us by in these days
Of the butterfly
To say
We all die in our own time
When we live in between
Makes all the difference
Sometimes

Worth The Earth

All the while
Whales with smiles
The dolphins sing
On waves and miles
Of folding ocean blue
Into holding true to
You know who
At the bottom of the deep
Where the whales will meet
To be with Neptune of the seas
And the land wondering
If man will ever understand
Life is like the knife
Cutting through the waves to save
From the fight for everlasting
Ways casting shells abroad
The earth worth the while
Applauding your desire
On fire with the smiles
On the land for the King
And the man at the bottom of the
Ocean who demands a wave
Of emotion understanding we can
With devotion plan to hand the earth
And ocean a way for today and a peace
To be solemnly called and for all
To be pleased

Lonely Dancers

We have to believe in something more
Than what we are fighting for
As we indulge in none other
Than discovering war only suffers
The story of gore
Not glory and fame
And nothing for
The goal attained
When world is one
And earth unites
All the guns without a fight
For borders or orders
To kill the man
With a weapon in hand
When we can
Lay down
And play
The sound
Delaying the battling hounds
For the right to authorize war
As we philosophize more
A way to expose a day
To rise above our foes
As a way to say
Love is the only answer
For enough lonely dancers
Starting to play from the heart
Starting to say who we are
As we are part of the wave
To start the ways to save

The Turning

We can be a cat on the couch fast asleep
Or observe the world as we weep

Or we can transform the norm and change
The calling from industrial illusion

To a new world involving the living planet
As we understand it exists

On a level of developing bliss
To conserve the limited resources

And reverse the intimidating forces
That watch the world stay rolling

Avoiding the stage controlling
The ideals of illogical repression

From the ideas of ecological aggression
In the turning we are yearning to survive

In giving every organism alive
A chance to enhance every moment

In the dance to romancing
Worthwhile enjoyment

Sacred

The library
With walls of
tall shelves

Stacked with books
to look and to tell
Too much for any

Person to comprehend
or read
Too many subjects

Authors like trees
in a forest
as we step in

Between the aisles
of worship
Only to see

Title upon title
Tripping along
Into the depths

Of knowledge
pondering and
wandering alone

Wondering how much does
someone need to know? In
order to think intellectually

To talk above the fellow man
Or to walk along the aisles
to understand all there is

To know
To read
To comprehend

One becomes overwhelmed
from the tall bookshelves
Perceived as unread

Wrapping his head around
the complexity
coming to the conclusion

experience is knowledge and
to know is to experience
without the appearance

of doing the choosing
Like one reads with breadth
As the other succeeds through

Sweat as the two
become one of the same
Awareness where they became

Both assured there is more
to learn, always more to read
more to do, more than ever

The Righteous and the Wicked

The righteous and the wicked
have two opposing sides

Some fell into hell
and some reside

In heaven with seven times seven
angels singing praise

As the opposition has a position
of contradictions raised

The world will twirl
as we hurl words of earthly ways

With the right to fight
what forgives and saves

Believing is to achieve what we do
As heresy is there to rationally prove

There is freedom
to run needing some fun

under the sun and moon
As the righteous choose

To walk and
The wicked live

To talk
As the good will listen

And should be missing
the one thing the wicked have

A life of sin
to live within

The pleasures
of leisure and to laugh

These are tactics
of a devil's advocate

with the opinions of sin
fading as the righteous

might just be of a higher
persuading

When living gives the righteous a dig
and evil wants to equal  the dead

The wicked have strife
in a solitary life

But the righteous
live forever instead

Awaken the Heart

It takes more than love
to keep us together
as we make it hard
to awaken the heart

Endeavoring forever
when we dream differently
and interpret them
without offending or

Pretending what they are
about
we dream
redeeming

The best person in us
Giving back
the lack of unconditional
trust

Awakening to make
everything as true
From the picnic to the palace
To the clown juggling the blues

Making light of our fights
When we are apart
Swaying in our days
Imbibing in the dark

As we console our souls
together for the days
making our roles endeavor
forever and always

Waiting On Stu

It is more about me
than about you
when I imagine you
Sitting with your legs
crossed
drinking
your Chablis
I swagger over
with my drink
holding you with my eyes
Wanting you to sip
your wine
and to my surprise
Your eyes
catch mine
as I turn away
ashamed
My eyes slowly
drift back
to you and your
cigarette
Wanting your company and yet
I see
you were waiting
To meet someone
as you sat patiently
across the way
With my imagination at play
we kiss and embrace
Not knowing but still showing emotion
as we go through the motions in your arms
smelling perfume letting me wonder as my mind
wanders taking you to your room as if we knew
each other better than who you were waiting for
drawing off of your cigarette
Catching my stare as you blew
the breath into the air
I was taking a chance
your beau was not into romance
And I could dance our one and only dance
As you finished your smoke
I joked with your
Fancy as my imagination
was getting antsy
as I thought to chance before your romance
Showed wondering if I could show you a better time
Pondering
Asking your name
I clumsily tried to explain my right
To sit down
afraid of imposing
with a frozen expertise
I thawed to remember
you were a lady to please
Pleasing to the eyes
knowing I would never see you again
As I accepted humbly and stumbled
back to my gin
After hearing your heart
was waiting for a show from a friend
Who intended to know
you even though I never endeavored
Taking you away
I only wanted to show you a good time
as I was going away
I introduced my love to you
At least my interest
was appearing
Not like your Steve
I was Stu
loving
and endearing

Act In Time

Nothings for certain if you’re a person
hurting and flirting with disaster
As a factor in being an actor
faster than the world on a stage
engaged in a whirlwind age
wanting to save the human race
as we embrace
to erase our own existence
From the planet as we hand it
our insistence and ego as we go
to show in thinking
we belong when really reality is sinking
as we long to make sense of the nonsense
that we admonish
Exhibiting our own uninhibited
yet honest
Assessment in our investment
To survive
showing signs reminding us we are alive
With protest although we know best is just not performed
With pollution as the conclusion
is not in our best interest
Being informed globally
we are nobly only trying
When totally socially we’re all denying
And killing ourselves with all the wars and lies
Unwilling to admit global warming as we die
If we don’t catch the watch in time
and stop the switching off
Of our minds and cop to the scoff to find
Solutions to our proven problems
With our souls and our truth to solve and resolve them

Prince Of Mine

Teach me peace
Prince of mine
Preach to me and
Teach me kind
Hearts of treasure
Beyond all measure
My continued blessings
Are Yours to pleasure
Let me be of service to You
Let me fight for Your Truth
Let me never waiver in trust
Let me discount the fear
And bust out of here
And be in Your harvest
Let me take lust and fear
And be of good cheer and honest
Let me be counted
Let me be more
Than what
I am accountable for

Heavenly Home

Glory to God
Who has all the power
Glory to Him who only knows the hour
Of His return as we yearn His arrival
On the day we are caught up
And learn of survival
For a new life dressed in a
Spotless robe
To transform and bless us
Sinless with hope
For we are with Him in the Kingdom
Of heaven
Together within our souls
A heaven beyond our wildest
Imaginations
A heavenly home
To be ours
While He is with patience
And comes to us with open arms
As children will hug and not be harmed
Looking into the calm eyes of peace
We see the ways of His wise
And always loving demeanor
And our dreams become true
As He holds us close to mean
He loves us and all we wanted
In the world is to be loved
By Him and afforded
As He redeems us
Being the conqueror of sin
Being patient and kind
The lover of Him who He knows
And consoles our very souls and whims
And doesn't boast for we love Him
Who gives us everything
As we struggle and live without our sin
Knowing we are forgiven and the guilt
Is given away
Ridden by Him who
Has a blameless heart and shameless part
Giving unto our souls a blameless treasure
To our hearts behold a shameless record
As we are His and He is ours
To hold and give our very hearts
That verily love His contenance
And in every part above our wanting
As we are in bliss among Him for we miss
His message as we read His Word
As He gives us lessons from His heart
Giving us assurance and yet we still doubt
What His life was about
Making His mark in life a shout
For we know the strife He lived
To give our souls a life forgiven
By His Grace as we bow down
To only want to see His face
Shining with a smile
On our souls
As we smile back
All the while to glow
And become children to our Father
In heaven
To fulfill in Him with our
Love forever
