Reclining In The Den

Cigar and brandy after dinner retreat
Is typically cynical and literally defeats
Discussing each political ideal
Because deceit leaves little appeal
For conservative perspective
Or liberal view
In a nutshell, the elect, selected to do
Amazing changes in the world today
To end all wars and use sustainable ways
But with a cover-up there is silence
Leading to more guns and violence
In a democracy of hypocrisy
And propaganda
A policy we all can see is underhanded
The solution to help is held in defiance
Compelling us to be with more self reliance
Without financing a war mongering state
Or wondering how we are great with hate
Ever since persistant insistance is cleverly
Severing togetherness forever leveraging
Business as usual in games without names
And witnesses refusal to remain without shame
Seeing the culture for what we are
Freedom with soldiers and callous hearts
Abstaining from complaining and sustaining harm
In a domain remaining vain and armed
As we fight despite disease and discord
A plight we can right with peace, not war
