The Tune Under the Moon
The cat that sat on a fence
Meowed loud at the moon
To swoon his love to the tune
And soon the dog awoke
Waking up the whole neighborhood
As the cat began to carry the tune
"The moon is made of cheese I say
As I wish I could play with a mouse"
As he became the aim of the neighboring
claim, they threw a shoe from the house
Being as cool as he could be, he pleaded,
the dog could very well be the culprit
He was rough awakening the neighbors
Like a sermon screaming at the pulpit!
The man of the house told the dog to shut up
As the cat sat on the fence
while the dog would not let up
He continued with the offense
Every bark made a remark
About the cat's catastrophe
Fighting for the right in the night
So everybody could not sleep
And the man could not keep
Control of his dog
And the two kept it up for an hour
As the cat would play, the dog couldn't say
why he was barking with power
The whole neighborhood began to question
Who was to blame?
The cat who sat on the fence
Or the dog who complained?
Barking and beckoning the cat to scat
As the man called the dog none to soon
Back into the house as the cat sang
to the tune under the moon
